The Frogs

When the call came in from Susan Stroman on our answering machine, Annie kept saying, “Do you know who that is?” I loved working with her and had much fun making a giant frog that ended the first act by eating Nathan Lane.

I had a lot of fun with the multi-person GYGES character. It was formed of crawling, oozing and rolling performers who coalesced into a huge anthropomorphic head that matched the facial expressions of classic comedian John Byner. It was cut (for time) before the first performance.
